Core Commitments
To reach the goal of being a church faithful to our mission, we believe that the following commitments are essential and non-negotiable for the health of Platte River Bible Church:
1.) Commitment to God’s Word: We believe in the salvation of sinners, the growth and protection of believers, and the preparation of Christians for ministry. God's Word is trustworthy and enough for all matters of salvation and living a godly life. Through the Bible, we learn about the triune God, the Creator, and His plan for our lives, which strengthens our faith in Jesus.
2.) Community of the Saints: For the building up and encouragement of the saints. It is within this type of community that we learn how to truly love one another, offering to one another the gospel message, safety through honest and gentle relationships, and time to grow in one’s faith in Jesus and love toward one another. Such shared love is a message to the watching world that Jesus Christ offers real salvation and instruction for all who turn to him— this is how love toward one another grows.
3.) Christ-Centered Discipleship: For the on-going growth in Christlikeness from the womb to the tomb. Discipleship is not limited to an elite few, rather it is for everyone who calls Jesus Christ their Lord. From young boys and girls to old men and women, continual growth in faith and love ought to be expected and encouraged. Every one of our ministry efforts at home and abroad aims to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Core Beliefs
The need for having foundational documents is both theological and practical. In a world where various thoughts, interpretations, and cultural opinions abound, we find it necessary to be clear in both our approach and convictions. These documents help us formulate a clear vision of where we stand and why.
Foundational Document for PRBC
Theological Documents:
Document 1: The Gospel Coalition Confession of Faith
Document 2: The Baptist Faith and Message 2000
Document 3: The Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality
Document 4: The Dallas Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel
Document 5: The Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood
These documents serve to help us best love and seek the good of our neighbors. In a world of confusion, these help us provide clarity to issues that are not always easy, nor simple, to work through. Our goal is to hold to our convictions from the Bible with a love for all people. We invite you to ask questions for more information.

Core Philosophy of Ministry
To reach the goal of being a church faithful to our mission, we believe that the following philosophy of ministry enables us to best function in a way that simple, practical, and biblical:
Discipleship Groups and Relationships: Every believer is called to the work of discipling. Only a few will be called upon to preach; only a few will lead public worship; or even teach large groups. However, we believe that every Christian is called by God to contribute to the disciple-making work of the church through deliberate, mutually encouraging relationships. This is primarily the interpersonal relating to other people that we ourselves can initiate in both small groups and one-on-one. These relationships, both small groups and one-on-one discipling, fits within the broader biblical context of the disciple-making work of the church that also includes Sunday worship gatherings, fellowship and prayer, and taking the gospel to the nations.
Sunday Worship Gathering: Christians are portrayed in the Bible not as isolated individuals but as a collective body with many members, all united through faith in Jesus. This unity in Christ forms the foundation of the church's existence. The church is not merely a physical structure; it is the gathering of Christians who come together to celebrate that unity and worship Jesus. These corporate gatherings reflect the vision of Revelation 4:5, where individuals from all nations, tribes, and groups worship collectively before God's throne. As stated in the Bible, “Now you [Christians] are the body of Christ and individually members of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27). Therefore, coming together in various assemblies is vital to manifesting the reality that Jesus died to create a united community, rather than a collection of isolated believers.
We make it a priority to gather together weekly for corporate worship to pray (Ephesians 6:18, Acts 2:42), sing (Ephesians 5:19), and teach the word (2 Timothy 3:16).
Missions and Church Planting: Missions and church planting are two sides of the same coin in many ways. Both emphasize taking the gospel to our neighbors and the nations as a means of fulfilling the great commission given to us by our Lord (Matthew 28:18-20). We make it a point to partner with various ministries and organizations that provide opportunities to take the gospel globally. When we aim for the world, we’ll always hit our neighborhood. We endeavor to make Christ known and to equip people to be missionaries right where they are.
